Thrust Areas

Inter alia its general and inclusive activities, the Foundation for Social Care stands out for the betterment, care and welfare of the deprived, destitute and development-deficit sections of society. The FSC feels that minorities, Dalits, women, slum dwellers and rural poor comprise the most deserving sections for any planned intervention, both by the government and private players. Most of the projects undertaken by the organization since its inception would speak of this very priority of the FSC.

The FSC believes that the dream of forming an enlightened, just and egalitarian society is not possible without an effective and inclusive educational system. The accessibility of the marginalized sections to quality education is an essential pre-requisite for progress of a community or nation. It is incumbent on policymakers and development workers to assure presence of quality institutions within the reach and affordability of common people so that the backrunners of progress could be encouraged to take fore-seats of development.

The FSC has started its contribution in this regard with the establishment of a rural English medium school, designated as al-Farooq Public School, at a remote village Karpi-Hamzapur in Sultanpur District of Uttar Pradesh. The area is marked with utter poverty and under-development which comprises one of the backward most parts of a backward most state of the country.

Establishment of a chain of similar schools in other villages of the state is in the offing. The next school in the chain will be established at Tulsipur (District Balrampur). The plan for establishing a high quality English medium residential school at Lucknow, namely Radiance Public School, has been long back approved by the FSC and a suitable land for the project has also been allocated recently. The Foundation looks forward to a wider and meaningful cooperation of all concerned for realizing this ambitious project.

Another instrument adopted by the organization for the promotion of education remains its well appreciated scholarship programme, thorough which financial assistance has been extended to 600 university-level and around one hundred school level students under various schemes of the FSC. The FSC gives utmost importance to educating the girl child. This is evident from its emphasis on the selection of girls on priority basis in the FSC’s institutions and scholarship schemes.

Skill development is now core area of the public planning system. The government intends to create 520 million jobs in the country by 2020. This will require availability of skilled persons in the prime trades and professions. The FSC would definitely take active interest in this regard. Already it is running an institute for education and training in computer applications namely Radiance Institute of Computer Applications. The astablishment of Hayat Institute of Nursing is another venture in the row some more projects are in the pipeline.

One of the most deprived and under-developed sections of the country are the rural poor. Most policies of the past have stimulated urbanization and rampant migration of people from rural areas to cities and towns. The situation must change as has been said by eminent personalities of the country that real development of India is not possible without development of it six hundred thousand villages. Keeping rural people aloof from the fruits development means deprivation of two-thirds of the countrymen.

The FSC has in its consideration a wide range of youth sensitization activities in Uttar Pradesh as regards rural developmant.

The Foundation for Social Care deems health as a basic integer of human progress. However, it hardly found available facilities anything near satisfaction. Through its Hayat Hospital, Hayat Institute of Nursing and government sponsored projects, the organization is constantly trying to upgrade and enhance health facilities that exist in District Lucknow and other districts of the state. In this regard, it has several innovative proposals in the offing which will take shape in due course of time.
