Hayat Institute of Nursing begins its academic journey

Indian Nursing Council gave permission to Foundation for Social Care (FSC) in June 2011 for running Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM) course at its Hayat Institute of Nursing (HIN). It should be noted that the Foundation started due process of establishing the institute almost one year back. Consequently, development of infrastructure of the institute was taken up leading to construction of institute building and renovation of the building spared for the hostel of its girls’ students. This step was followed by arrangements regarding laboratories and library of the proposed institution. The director, principal and other staffs of the HIN were appointed by July 2011 and the admission drive was simultaneously carried out. It is surely a pleasant news that all 40 seats were filled within a few weeks of the drive and the first academic session commenced on 19th September 2011 with a moderate opening ceremony.

The three and half years’ course in the GNM managed under the HIN is affiliated to the state government body UP Medical Faculty and students will be awarded diploma on successful completion of the course and six months’ internship. The institute is primarily attached with Hayat Hospital and Sahar Hospital for practical work.

Encouraged by the response of students and their parents, the Executive Committee of the FSC resolved to apply for opening ANM course by the next session.
