Eight Year Report of Achievements
In the name of God the Merciful the Benevolent.Foundation for Social Care was established in 1994 by a group of warm hearted youth, committing themselves to a cause which was very dear and sacred for them. Inspired by the teachings of Islam and moved by the model of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), they took it to their heart that human welfare is just not a charity, rather it is an obligatory function of society. The thrill of commitment has unconsciously swayed the group to undertake programmes and activities demanding challenging sacrifices and a tenacious resolve to reach to the cherished goals year after year. It was impossible to come up to the high ideals and gripping sense of human suffering without receiving the fortunate support and benign guidance from some of the towering personalities of time. The constant generosity of patrons and their unreserved and timely help rendered it possible for the Foundation to express satisfaction while taking here the stock of eight years of its achievements and sharing the pleasure of accomplishment with all the concerned. The ultimate objective of the mission was to seek the Pleasure of God the Most Merciful and it was He only Who made the humble team of the Foundation to place some of its trivial contributions on record. No human mission can be flawless but it is the divine bestowal that renders it meaningful and appreciation worthy. This Eight Year Report of Achievements surely intends to put in bold letters the highlights of the part of journey completed by the Foundation for Social Care in its formative phase, while feeling a threshold to fly further high. May the collective dreams of the functionaries, trustees, and associates of the Foundation see the daylight of reality by the grace of Almighty God and with the whole hearted cooperation of its sponsors, patrons and well wishers. Amen! The Team The team of the Foundation for Social Care is based on activists of almost the same age and of the same background and thus it has an inbuilt and inherent capacity to provide a strong base for the achievement of objectives enshrined in the registered Deed of Trust, which makes the Foundation a legal entity, and in the resolutions of its trustees from time to time. Apparently, it seems that the focus of the Foundation is only in and around the state capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, however, some of its trustees enjoy an international exposure of organisational management which of late has started showing its impact on the gradual diversification of the activities and geographical reach of the Foundation. The team is comprised of workers hailing from both the streams of knowledge, that is classical and temporal, providing a peculiar synthesis of qualities and work philosophy besought by many organisations nowadays. The brightest achievement of the FSC during these years was the formation of a committed and fervent team of workers prepared to undertake the challenge of achieving the set targets. In practice, the composition of the team of FSC includes its trustees, advisors, executives and the subordinates; who collectively apply their wisdom at the time of annual meetings of Board of Trustees (BOT) or the monthly meetings of the Central Monitoring Committee (CMC) or the quarterly meetings of the Unit Management Committees (UMCs) or the staff orientation programmes to thrash out issues and problems and develop clarity of vision before moving for any action. Naturally, the well thought actions welded with sparkling commitment would come out with worthy results and that is what a normal observation at the Foundation. The BOT makes the long term and annual planning of the FSC and strives for the availability of desired funds, whereas the CMC acts as the executive-cum-monitoring body spearheading the actual execution on the approved projects and programmes at the levels of both the Head Office and the constituent units of the Foundation.
