Al-Mawa Care Home

Residential Care, Education & Dignity for Orphaned Children

Dedicated to orphan care through a supportive residential care home. As an FSC orphanage initiative, Al-Mawa Care Home champions education for vulnerable children, reinforcing child welfare India.

A Space of Security & Dignity

Established in 2009 under the aegis of the Foundation for Social Care (FSC), Al-Mawa Care Home was conceived as more than a shelter — a space of security, dignity, and structured upbringing for orphaned and vulnerable boys.

The word “Al-Mawa” signifies refuge. True to its name, the Care Home provides:

  • Accommodation
  • Stability
  • Education
  • Moral guidance

...for children who have lost parental support.

Care and Education for Children

More than a shelter — a structured upbringing.

Purpose & Vision

Al-Mawa was founded on a simple but powerful belief:

"A child without family support must not be left without opportunity."

Through residential care and educational support, the programme aimed to:

  • Transform vulnerability into self-reliance
  • Nurture disciplined, educated, and socially responsible individuals
  • Support children to grow into contributing citizens of a Sashakt Bharat

Programme Highlights (2009 Onwards)

  • Residential boarding for orphaned boys
  • Formal school education support
  • Moral and value-based upbringing
  • Supervised daily routine and academic mentoring
  • Healthcare access through FSC’s medical facilities
  • Safe, structured, and monitored living environment

The Care Home initially supported a core group of children, prioritizing quality over scale to ensure:

Individual attention Academic mentoring Emotional stability

Beyond Shelter

Building Responsible Citizens

Al-Mawa was not a charity dormitory. It functioned as a disciplined residential support system where children:

  • Continued mainstream schooling
  • Received guidance and mentorship
  • Developed life skills and personal discipline
  • Grew in an environment of respect and responsibility

This initiative reflects FSC’s broader philosophy:

"Social welfare must lead to empowerment, not dependency."

Continuity of Commitment

While programme structures evolved, the spirit behind Al-Mawa continues within FSC’s larger ecosystem of educational and welfare initiatives.

Values embedded across FSC institutions:

Protection
Inclusion
Opportunity for vulnerable children

Al-Mawa Care Home represents a meaningful chapter in FSC’s three-decade journey of Seva, Samarpan, and Rashtra-Nirman, demonstrating that nation-building begins by safeguarding the dignity of its most vulnerable children.
