Strengthening Maternal Health at the Grassroots

Empowering rural communities through the maternal health program UP. The FSC maternal health initiative focuses on antenatal care and promoting institutional deliveries. This safe motherhood program expands rural health outreach and improves Kothawan maternal health.

Advancing Safe Motherhood in Rural Uttar Pradesh

Under the U.P. Sector Investment Programme, supported by the Department of Health, Government of Uttar Pradesh, the Foundation for Social Care (FSC) was entrusted with implementing a maternal health strengthening initiative in Kothawan Block, District Hardoi.

This project focused on:

  • Improving antenatal care access
  • Expanding immunization coverage
  • Promoting institutional deliveries among rural and marginalized pregnant women

Many beneficiaries had limited exposure to structured public health systems. FSC’s role was to bridge awareness and access, ensuring government health services reached the last mile.
